Could Things Have Been Done To Stop The Titanic From Sinking?
Of course. Several things could have been done to prevent the Titanic from sinking.
Captain E.J. Smith certainly could have listened to the multiple reports of ice floes that were flowing in steadily through the radio, and slown down so icebergs coming up ahead could have been seen sooner and avoided. Also, some say that the shipbuilders could have used stronger rivets so they might not have popped when the berg struck the ship, although much couldn't really have been done about that; they were the standard rivets for their time.
